Manchester United Soccer Schools Malaysia Press Release 2013
Manchester United Soccer Schools kicks off 2013 Kuala lumpur PROGRAMME
KUALA LUMPUR, - Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS) has announced that they will deliver seasonal coaching programmes in Kuala Lumpur this year.
Abdur Raheem, Executive Director of Kirkwall Sports Pte Ltd which owns the rights to MUSS in South East Asia, said, "Considering the popularity of football and especially Manchester United in Malaysia, we are happy to bring Manchester United Soccer Schools Player Development Courses to Kuala Lumpur and provide this opportunity for the children of Malaysia, to learn and play like the first team player’s."
The first two courses, kicking off on 31st May and 7th June respectively, will focus on current Manchester United first team players Valencia, Young and Kagawa, in which the players will learn various skills and techniques that can be used to dominate a “1 v 1” situation. Each course lasts three days and is open to boys and girls aged between seven and 16.
All kids enrolled will take part in the MUSS series of skills challenges. The top performers will be selected to participate in the MUSS SEA Skills Final where the winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Manchester to compete in the MUSS World Skills Final at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground, as well as the world-famous Old Trafford stadium, in October 2013.
“The courses are going to help fine-tune the players’ techniques and develop their decision-making abilities on the pitch. The children will learn the same techniques displayed by Manchester United players and have the opportunity to develop these techniques in small-sided game situations” said Andy Dixon, Head Coach of MUSS in South East Asia. “Everything we do at MUSS relates back to the first-team players. We believe that this is a very effective way of gaining an understanding and getting positive results from the children.”
Featuring on-field coaching by certified MUSS coaches from the UK, each course costs RM1,250.00 per child and includes an exclusive Nike Manchester United training kit and giveaway pack, and player certificate. The venue is set for UM Arena at the Sports Centre of University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.
One of the most respected soccer schools in the world, MUSS has been conducting seasonal courses to SEA children in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines since 2008. Learn to play the United Way with Manchester United Soccer Schools
We’ll integrate players into a Club with a proud history of youth development and playing the game in the right way. Manchester United have a rich history of nurturing players who have always enjoyed playing high-quality, attacking football. From the Manchester United Junior Athletic Clubs founded in 1938, through to the famous Busby Babes and the Class of 92, there has always been an unswerving belief in giving young players an opportunity to perform. In the modern game, striving to be the best season after season sees the Club continue to develop home-grown talent as well as searching the globe for the best young players capable of adding to this tradition.
We’ll re-create the atmosphere of Carrington to give young players an insight into how Manchester United players train. We encourage players to try to build up a range of movements and techniques that the First Team players can be seen to perform each time they play. Our sessions allow young players to repeat these fundamental actions in a fun and exciting way. Whatever their ability level we want players to feel confident and relaxed to try these movements and techniques in games.
We’ll give all players the opportunity to succeed in different areas. We encourage players to deal with all the challenges the game presents with a positive attitude and strong character. We believe that each player attending our courses has great attributes and each can player can develop in a variety of areas.
